No. 3 Gin & Speyside Reserve Whisky

Berry Bros. & Rudd is Britain's oldest wine and spirit merchant, who initially established the business in London in 1698. The company still grows and prospers, having opened shops in Hong Kong and Japan lately.

Today I want to highlight two fine premium spirits from them, an awesome Gin and an extraordinary Whisky.

"No. 3 London Dry Gin" is a traditional and straight- forward Gin, delivering what you expect from a premium spirit like this. On the nose mainly Juniper, and on the palate a mixture of Juniper, Citrus, Cardamom and some spiciness. No alcohol burn, quite mild. Long and warming finish.
Awesome to enjoy on the rocks, but also recommended for a stunning Gin Tonic. The design of the bottle is also great, having a key built into the glass - No. 3 stands for the address of their oldest shop in St. James Street.

Beside their great Gin, Berry Bros also produce their own awesome Blended Malt Whiskies, one of them is the "Berrys' Speyside Reserve". An elegant, smooth and fruity representative of the famous Speyside region. Quite floral and sweet on the nose. Approachable on the palate, with hints of hazelnuts, citrus and vanilla, also a bit of oak. A medium and warm finish rounds up the fine experience of an after dinner dram in your lounge chair.

From the company: Being a good wine merchant is about providing the best quality possible at all levels, be that hidden gems or grand châteaux. It is about integrity, treating our customers in an honest and fair manner. It is about authority, presenting knowledgeable and respected opinions. And, vitally, it is about providing an unsurpassed level of customer service.

These four key values form the foundation of our business, and are the prime reasons why today we are honoured to hold two Royal Warrants for H.M. The Queen and H.R.H. The Prince of Wales.
A supplier to the royal family since the reign of King George III, historic customers have included Lord Byron, William Pitt the Younger and the Aga Khan.

We created the Cutty Sark whisky, and pioneered the vintage concept for The Glenrothes single malt Scotch whisky.

Today members of the Berry and Rudd families continue to own and manage the family-run wine merchant.
